easyrent ("easyrent", "we") operates the real-estate marketplace at easyrent.house. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you can exercise over it. It applies to visitors of the website and to people who contact us through our forms, WhatsApp, or listing portals. We process personal data under Costa Rica's Law No. 8968 (Protection of the Person Regarding the Processing of Their Personal Data) and, for residents of the European Union, consistent with GDPR principles.

Data we collect

  • Contact data you give us: name, phone/WhatsApp number, and email when you submit an inquiry form, message us on WhatsApp, or request a visit.
  • Inquiry context: the property you asked about, your message, and preferences you share during the conversation (budget, desired area, move-in date).
  • Technical data: IP address, browser/user agent, and an anonymous visitor identifier cookie (re_visitor_id) used to count unique visits to listings.
  • Advertising cookies: Meta (Facebook/Instagram) pixel cookies (_fbp, _fbc) that help us measure whether our ads led to an inquiry.

What we use it for

  • Responding to your inquiry and coordinating visits (including via our automated WhatsApp assistant, which a human can take over at any time).
  • Operating and improving the marketplace (aggregate analytics, error monitoring).
  • Measuring advertising performance (e.g., reporting an anonymized "lead" event to Meta when the WhatsApp button is used).
  • We do not sell your personal data.

Who processes it for us

We rely on service providers that process data on our behalf: Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (web hosting), Meta Platforms (advertising measurement), PostHog (product analytics), Sentry (error monitoring), Zernio (WhatsApp messaging infrastructure), and OpenAI (automated translation and assistant features). Each receives only what is needed for its function.

Retention

Inquiry and conversation data is kept while your inquiry is active and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. The anonymous visitor cookie lasts up to 1 year. You can delete cookies in your browser at any time.

Your rights

You may request access to, rectification of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, write to fabian@easyrent.house or message us at +506 6025-3290. We will respond within the terms established by applicable law.
